People always badmouth Blender's UI without understanding it. Blender was made before a GUI was a thing. Its 8 months older than Windows 95 for christ's sake. Back then GUIs were just shells that ran over top of DOS. Blender is essentially a DOS program that over the years has had elements of a GUI forced upon it because most people are now too stupid to use a computer that doesn't have a user interface that spoon feeds them everything.
I would argue that Blender has been progressively getting worse and attracting the worst elements of computer users because its UI is getting more user friendly and not less. It used to be the UI was a gatekeeper that kept casuals and talentless hacks away from the software and I cringe every time there's a new update because I think of all the new assholes are going to come to the software and about how they're all still going to whine because the software still isn't easy enough to use.
If I had it my way Blender would return to its old DOS styled UI so that it would be limited to only people who are technically minded and not even try to attract all these so-called "artists" who can't appreciate the satisfaction that comes from learning to use challenging software.
These idiots won't be satisfied until they've made Blender as lame and user friendly as Daz. They all whine on the internet but I've never seen a single one of them show up to a Blender conference like real users do.
Sorry for ranting but it really irks me when plebs don't appreciate the genius of Blender's UI because they've been coddled by a world where they expect everything to be solved with a point and a click. Some days I truly think Windows and all GUIs were a huge mistake for the advancement of intellect and mankind.
