We ARE living in the golden age of comic books and that is precisely the problem.
We're in an era now where would be comic book creators are no longer beholden to the big two as publishers, or diamond as distributers or to the box store model. Anyone can get a kickstarter and a chiense printer and put out their book via the internet.
And the thing is, when ANYONE can do it, everyone will do it, no matter how talented, untalented, gay or brown or furry, they can put their book out, so there's no quality control in the indie scene.
And that's a huge problem for fandoms because fandoms are built around sucking the same dicks over and over again no matter how old and tired it gets. Fandoms are about whoring yourself to a corporatized standard.
Turns out nobody here actually wanted the industry to change or evolve, they wanted it to regress to when they were kids.
