Europoor here, came out of this movie yesterday. It was pretty good, nowhere near as amazing as the reviews make out, but then they were all gonna have that racial bias anyway.
There were a few plot holes and bizarre leaps in logic, a bit of a character overload (I started getting certain characters mixed up in terms of names/motive because they keep switching outfits and locations at the drop of a hat) and too much of the film's conflict relies on you knowing who Klaw is - a character who had maybe 5 minutes screentime in AoU - because he's given no proper introduction and the movie just assumes everybody knows him.
The set pieces were cool, the casino sequence is ten times better than TLJ, although the soundtrack was a very odd mishmash of stereotypical African jungle drums and hip hop. It feels like they just threw all the things they think black people like together in a pot without regard for matching it to the visuals and decided 'fuck it, that'll do.' So you have scenes in a London museum accompanied by fucking taiko. It's very odd.
I can also say that if there's anyone here who's particularly opposed to a black cast (which, let's be honest, there are) then this is NOT going to go down well with them at ALL, it leans into the Africa shit HARD. You have people with plates in lips, beads are used for communication, talk of slavery and empowering blacks the world over so they can rule - it's tremendously on the nose.
So yeah, dazzling and charming, but has a lot of aspects to improve on. Doesn't unseat Guardians or Avengers 1 for me. 7/10.
