at least tactics has some use though I don't want it at all, but actually every single one of my games in the past two weeks my games' main heroes have been forced to pick shit secondaries that I don't want. This is actually the first time it has been one as good as tactics, and normally I wouldn't be too annoyed by it but all I want is my casterfu to not go from 8/10 to 2/10.An
entire 2 weeks (real life, not 14 turns...) of mysticism and its crapskill cronies giving me builds uglier than haircuts black people post humorously on twitter.
And my maps have not given me the tools for avoiding this (good witch huts, universities, capturing confluxes, etc). A number of the games from these weeks I've tried to variously savescum and spend 10+ turns avoiding fights to avoid levelling up while looking for a decent witch hut to save me but to no avail.
I'm seriously thinking of modding my game to change skill chances for all classes. Basically, fix things so only 0 or 1 (out of 112 or whatever it is) chance to offer resistance, luck, leadership, artillery, first aid, learning, eagle eye, mysticism. Maybe also mod chance of estates/diplomacy/fire magic/pathfinding/scholar/tactics, but probably not as those all have their nonsuck uses. Almost modded it last week but decided to persevere, but gah this crap is stupid.
