Son, making claims "if you didn't get the movie, then you weren't watching it close enough" solves absolutely nothing. Bad movie is bad no matter how long you are going to stare at it and analyse it. And there if FUCKLOAD of things wrong with this particular one.
It's cliche, because it's yet another "badass anti-drug cops are ruthless killers that apply the same methods as the people they fight with and there is a naive newcomer character that is traumatised by such experience". This cliche is around since the fucking 80s, for crying out loud! It'd 30-odd years old plot synopsis.
That's why it's cliche. It takes to not watch movies AT ALL to not recognise all the bits and pieces making this movie or to call it NOT cliche.
And seriously, don't you ever try using shit like>The fact that you think the movie is 'cliche' shows you didn't even really follow the movie
