You make it sound like the website was doing some avantgarde shit.
What they in fact did was copypasta a bunch of code they knew the base functionality of, but didn't understand the entire workings of. Then surprise surprise when that nets you security risks galore and you need to take your site down over it.
They'll take a bunch of weeks to "fix" it, which more than likely means a bunch of dweebs posturing towards each other like peacocks about how well they can code when they can't. Then a handful of people who actually do know how to code need to fix this mammoth task, and either fail to meet the deadline, or deliver half work.
Either way the site will then be up for about a month before going down again, because at the end of the day the gauntlet has now been laid, and ain't nobody going to put serious time or money into a silly manga indexing site to proof it against whatever autist they pissed off.
