>>123068222>why did he lie?
When they began this a few years ago (remember animation takes longer than film/tv) it was during the rise of wokeness and 'subverting expectations' whether Smith or his team actually believe that way or not it was the bandwagon the entertainment industry was jumping on, and what better way than to deconstruct a series based on a protagonist literally named He-Man. So smith and his team COULD have been lying about Teela being the real protagonist to tow the current line at the time.
OR they are starting to realize that it isn't profitable and they might be sitting on a shitbomb like Ghosbusters or Last Jedi so they are lying NOW to get those crucial initial clicks in with He-Man fans before the word gets out.
I think most of the images we've seen are from the first episode, I think He-Man disappears and is taken off the board for most of the series, Skeletor 'wins', several of the smaller characters are killed (like the Transformers movie) and the series is focused on Teela leading a resistance group culminating in finding Adam in Skeletor's dungeon or it turns out Skeletor's mysterious unbeatable henchman is a brainwashed He-Man.
TL:DR This will be like the new Duck Tales
