If you're a boxer, you better fucking believe you're going to have to endure HIIT exercise while getting punched in the face and then some.
If you're a sprinter, you better believe you're going to have to endure some gut-wrenching, puke inducing workouts in order to improve.
Literally think of any fast-twitch sport and you're going to have to face pain if you want to be any good at it. Even slow-twitch sports like long distance running require immense amounts of pain endurance.
Pain is part of the game. It's not about working out smart or not. Pain is an inherent part of the journey to seeing results in most activities that have some sort of "peak" to reach.
