Fat guy here, down to 120kg/264lbs from 140/308.
I have the same problem with vegetables that have been overcooked / boiled to a mush. Eggplant, Zucchini, etc. veggies that just disintigrate on your fork. My body reacts with a violent gag reflex whenever I try to eat those, IDK why. I WANT to eat them, it's just that I have to force myself to eat them. I can eat them raw, baked, stir fryed and so on no problem, as long as they haven't been boiled.
I can also eat potatoes, brussel sprouts, carrots and other "harder" veggies that were boiled in the same pot no problem though. My lanky af brother (70kg/154lbs) has the same problem (I'm fat because I used to eat like a lawnmower).
One problem that I also face are onions. I have a fissure-tongue and eating onions or anything spicy is torment. I still chop a large onion into my salad because it's healthy and I have seen the health benefits and I don't cry or tear from them, it's just very hard to eat. Because no matter how painful it is to eat these foods, being fat is infinitely worse.
