Man, I doubt this will reach the right ears, but I want to report a bug for gallery-dl anyway, without using the github page.
When I rip from twitter using gallery-dl, as of this date, ripping this:https://twitter.com/Clearite/media
gives me 792 images.
Ripping from this:https://twitter.com/search?q=from%3AClearite%20max_id%3A749223000004702210%20exclude%3Aretweets%20filter%3Amedia%20-filter%3Aperiscope
(from:Clearite max_id:749223000004702210 exclude:retweets filter:media -filter:periscope)
gives me 0 images. On twitter it visibly returns 0 images. Even only the "from:Clearite max_id:749223000004702210" returns 0 images. Just ripping "from:Clearite" returns a weird rip of 204 images that stops at the id 991060192539197440 (posted 5:02 PM Apr 30, 2018).
First of all, the 0-result search isn't even honest. I've ripped this person's twitter before, and I can clearly see there are 1,428 images of an earlier date than the max the "media" rip gave me from youtube-dl. But secondly, this is so fucked up. I now can't trust searches at all.
The same day as this, I downloaded "semahiro"'s twitter, and the "media" tab gave me 848 images, and the search query with the max id of 966294533062279168 (the earliest the "media" tab rip could reach) gave me the other 8,148... but ONLY WHILE LOGGED-IN!!!!! It returned nothing at first (not the search- only the rip), which I knew was bogus. So I updated the "cookies.txt" gallery-dl uses to use my twitter account, then it ripped. So that was also fucked up. I didn't know you can't rip the search without valid credentials. I didn't know the cookies could expire when my browser session was still active. But now I know, I guess.
But the point is, why does the "semahiro" search return results, but "clearite" doesn't. If I hadn't ripped clearite's twitter before, I would just never know I was missing images. This is awful.
I stitched some ss's together, but it's too big to post:https://files.catbox.moe/d6g0pi.png
