My homeboard was /v/ and I abandoned /v/ nearly a decade ago because it was unrecognizable.
The problem is more than gamergate, more than the fappening, and more than the 2016 US election eternal Septembering /pol/: the situation that led to /vg/ being created permanently changed how moderation worked on 4chan. It's what got yotsuba's moderation tools completely rewritten and what led to the current atmosphere of absolutely autistic enforcement of "on topic / off topic" threads being the end all be all purpose of team4chan.
The problem is /v/'s corpse needed the heavy handed slash and burn. Most of the other boards didn't. They got it anyway though and so here we are.
The pendulum swung back way too far. People forget that there was a point where the janitor program had dwindled to a literal handful of people. There were less of them than there were mods at one point before moot completely pivoted. >>4335
moot killed /a/. It was his parting gift.
