Seriously, Anon. You do realize that the volume will be about the ponies trying to restore the status quo, right? Yo do realize that, since they cannot lose, after they win everything will return to normal, right?
There's unicorn Twilight, yes, but the plot literally revolves around rejecting the world where that happened, fixing it, and restoring the future from the epilogue instead.
Are you seriously unable to understand why some people would dislike a story that ultimately embraces a future where Twilight can't go to the movies with her friends because she's "living the Royal Life"?
How exactly does the volume sidesteps season 9 if it defends the idea that Twilight must be a pwetty pwincess in Canterlot? What do you even expect people to think? "Oh, I hate the epilogue because it was poorly animated and terribly written, but upon reading this kawaii comic with hilarious time travel shenanigans that convinced me that Twilight not being a princess would be a mistake, now I love the idea of having the Princess of Friendship leaving her friends in Ponyville to go move the Sun in Canterlot!!"
