Studying history with an eye towards avoiding its repetition is the realm of the left. Some particularly extreme right-wingers will in fact argue that we should return to the way things were in the past, and thus earn the label 'reactionary'.

No more so than Orwell. It was thus at most against Marxism-Leninism, and all those silly ideas about vanguard parties.
