I mean Confalone is giving such a non answer that it doesn't matter. He knows the older fans will like that stuff, but in no way did they go out of their way to make it "The New Gay Adventures of Rarijack." This. Especially since it cuts both ways. If the creators came out and canonically gave say Trixie and Sunset make love interests(I don’t count Flash because Flash and Sunset was using him cause evil) it would sting but it wouldn’t exactly stop any ships I have.

Anyway the Korra Asami thing had a lot of meta factors against it. Nick didn’t want it cause foreign markets and Nick as a whole was being managed by a complete idiot evidently plus they had it in for the show by the fourth season. Tying into the management thing anything that wasn’t Spongebob was considered garbage by them. Much like Cartoon Network with Teen Titans Go, years later.

Well at least in TTG Operation Dude Rescue was rife with dyke shipping so there’s that. But I’ll stop lest it gets more appropriate for /co/.

Timber is very two-dimensional. It's a shame they can't make a lot of the male characters interesting like the female ones.. The most interesting male character half the time is usually Spike, and that's not saying a lot.

I had an idea for Flash becoming friends with Sunset and supporting her as she awkwardly tries to woo both Trixie and Starlight.

The more I think about it, the more I realize how much I adored Rarity's character in Rollercoaster of Friendship
One of my favorite flaws that makes Rarity seem less like a cartoon character and more real is that her generosity and eagerness to please others gets taken advantage of constantly.
It happens in almost every Rarity centered episode in the ponyverse, and now we're slowly learning that her EqG counterpart suffers from the same problem.
Vignette uses her star status and glowing praise to work Rarity into her corner. Basically how Suri and Sassy both began to her.
But then the facade slowly starts to unravel, the stress piles up way too high, and their ultimate goal is finally revealed. And Rarity reacts like how I imagine a lot of people would.

A total mental breakdown, followed by losing sight of what she wanted in the first place. That's what makes Applejack's line of "You're not special!" and her deduction that Vignette was just blowing smoke up her ass so she would complete designs for her so poignant.

Because it digs deep and strikes at that tender nerve both versions of Rarity have. "You're nothing to these people" That overwhelming anxiety that she could be forgotten in an instant by people she felt genuine connections to.
Pony Rarity is at least starting to realize her own self-worth, but EqG Rarity still has some ways to go.

Normally, comic canon is questionable at best, but this was written when idw more or less threw all of their stuff under the bus in order to write comics that more faithfully follows the show. I've watched almost every episode up to season 7 several times each, still go back from time to time and they still hold up. I personally think that because season 7 was so good along with the massive leaks that happened 8 has just been a downer. Maybe the back half of the season will be good, maybe it wont. I am a huge RariJackfag. I practically came in my pants when the latest special aired.

But... When the Rarijack vs Raridash argument kept flaring up, I began to wonder -- What if BOTH ships were in the same episode? What if the shipping didn't just stop at Rarijack plus Raridash, and Rarity just kept thotting it up? As soon as that crossed my mind, I shat out a long-winded and incomprehensible string of sentences that maybe resembled Discworld if you've never read it before.

The problem was, I am no Pratchett. So it was incredibly unfunny and boring. Thus, it was scrapped.
