So I talked about it earlier and I figured I should give it a go. I'm starting a new DnD-style campaign (with Pie's approval, of course). This one is gonna be a little different than his, this campaign is gonna be fucking DARK. It'll still have some light-heartedness, and some romance, but it'll be really fucking edgy.

I dunno, she could be a doppelganger, a succubus, or even an insectoid adaptation of a rakshasa (technically, a female is called a rakshasi); while the D&D depictions usually have the tiger aspects to them, the traditional Hindu portrayals are as beastly, ugly, and fierce humanoids with two large fangs coming from their upper teeth, sharp, lengthy claws, and a taste for human flesh and blood. They also were experts with illusion and shapeshifting, and many were powerful warriors as well. Not all rakshasas were evil, some of them even being genuinely good, but they were still mostly villainous. Chrysalis could honestly fit the description perfectly as some kind of rakshasi warlord.

Think about it, when she was little she had a fragile ego and a superiority complex due to her being Celestia's student. All she cared about was power and tossed other ponies aside because she had one goal in mind.

But her and Sunbutt both fucked up what with Sunbutt's conflict resolution tactics consisting of sweeping the topic of Sunset's desire under the rug countless times. And not addressing her issues until she did something stupid. Then she goes to another world because she wants to be its ruler and slowly becomes the alpha bitch of a high school.

Then she learns that her former mentor took on another student and that student became everything she wanted to be. Well she snapped to say the least. But she did keep a level head during the last bit where she was giving Twi an ultimatum between going back home and keeping the crown. It wasn't until Twi and the human group blasted her ass with friendship magic and she was corrupted by the Element of Magic that she finally realized she was being a tool.

So she calmed the fuck down and just started being a better person. That's why she's a good villain to me. Once you see how their life was you can more understand why acted the way they did.

Oh, I like both of them a lot. To be honest, I ship them pretty hard; with the Magus!Sunset idea, I wanna see the two of them meet in Pie's story; considering how Gilda seems to end up with a lot of mages, having a mage around who actually knows how to swing a sword pretty damn well would be a bit of fresh air while still having a lot of the tricks that all them Wizzurds do, even if she's still not the prodigal arch-mage that Twilight was before her ascension.
