I'd totally agree that the first song feels too repetitive. I'm thinking of making a clearer chorus and then possibly cutting the verses in half to make it tighter.
Personally for the first song I would add more reverb to the strings and piano(?) hits in this. It would make them seem more organic in the mix because right now its pretty clear that they are just plugins and although that isn't a bad thing it takes away from the overall feeling of the song. Your call. For the second track I really dig the percussion. I'd say the vocals are too quiet, pretty hard to make out what you're saying at times. Overall very solid though, maybe make the guitars at the end harsher? For the third track I'd say it's pretty solid. Might double the guitar tracking to make it feel a bit more fleshed out or add some bass or something, but the writing is there, and it's got a coherent feel. I'd say that these all feel pretty short and I'm sure thats by design, but you might wanna experiment with making them a bit longer if you want. As for the straight to vocaroo recordings, love the first one, I'm pretty sure I've heard it here before. Good shit. For the second one, I know this is just a rough tracking but for a slower song like that I'd say a kick drum could go a long way in making it feel more whole.>>104882174
Yeah I'd agree. I was trying to make that shorter repeated segment work as one but I don't think I did nearly enough to distinguish it>>104884429
Dear god I've gotten some harsh shit before but somehow this cut deep. I appreciate the honesty, I'm starting to hear it now. I guess I'll just keep going through and fucking with things until I can't anymore.
