I've posted this before, but whatever...
>be senior in high school
>have fake band where we play toy electronic instruments
>instruments the type that just play per-recorded riffs
>cover classic and modern rock songs
>figure out rudimentary patterns for button pressing to decently back up the vocals
>still bill ourselves as a "performance art piece" rather than band
>sign up for tryouts for my high school battle of the bands
>I was "drummer" (played these stupid electric bongo things with cheesy sound effects)
>lead singer was in Florida, so I stepped up and sang as well
>Show up to audition with out fake instruments in real cases
>pop them out
>music teacher/judge sighs deeply
>we start playing Losing My Religion
>15 seconds in he just says "Ok, That will be enough. Thanks for wasting our time."
>I start getting angry and yelling about art vs. pop and that we just flew over his head.
>didn't help anything.
>we never played a gig
Looking back, I am so fucking happy he rejected us. I can't sing for half a shit, and honestly without really good acting/choreography (which he hadn't worked out at the time of the audition), it would have just been a fucking cringe-worthy failure.
I dodged a bullet, and thus do not know OP's feel.
>pic related, it would have been our audience
