>>2696231When I was in elementary school, I used to read a lot of comic strips, namely Peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes, and that influence never really left me no matter what kind of art I'm making. Over time I mainly just started incorporating elements of whatever media I like into my art, like NewGrounds Flash animations (and other "radi-cool" media from the 2000's), the animation work of Mason Lindroth, obscure Japanese freeware, fifth-generation video game consoles like the PS1, etc. The style I'm going for in Catharsis specifically is based on the look and feel of a variety of grunge and punk bands.
