Most of this comes from the fact I don't trust people in general. People do have a habit of turning on you when you get in their way with objectivity that doesn't suit their fancy. I'm what you would call "honest to a fault", so I often come up and tell people why their preferences are actually a bad thing overall, which causes them to respond predictably irrational. I don't enjoy making people upset, because my goal is really just to push for truth. I value truth more than protecting feelings because I believe the lack of honesty in the world is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, problems in the world, and is holding all of us back as individuals and as a collective. That being said, I'm extremely socially anxious in a traditional sense.
The real question is: Do I not trust people because I'm naturally anxious around more than a few people, or am I socially anxious because I don't trust people?
