This is true for women, not for men. If men dated with the same standards as women (not in terms of what they look for, but the minimum acceptable regarding a 0-10 scale), they would all be MGTOW by now.
There is some truth to the fact that women will also rely on behavior and contextual information to rate a man, but that is also true for men, although to a lesser degree (basically why being confident will make any girl find you more attractive, but a girl being cutesy will only make men who find that particular behavior more attractive to like her more).
Even worse, with technology dating became a lot more competitive and a lot more shallow. While in person the girl would have many other contextual clues to decide on whether or not you're attractive, on a dating app she pretty much only has your pictures, which, because of how they rate men, are always working against you regardless.
So, settling down might not be the answer to a lot of men.
