I returned home and seen the drawing critique you did, anon.
Thanks, it has some very nice suggestions, but I think I should say a couple of things.
First, yes eyes seen from the side are triangular. But the reasons why I didn't draw them as complete triangle are two. One, the photo you posted is of Nick not completely on the side but beyond, I would say 10-20 degrees from the vertical plane. On the opposite, in this drawing the mongoose is tuned toward the viewer, and that modifies the triangle shape. Why can't you see it so easily? This is also reason number two, because grey Indian mongooses have ridiculously high nasal bridges (also the reason why you don't see the other eye). Still I moved it toward a more triangular shape.
Second, the eye. It is true, side irises are elliptical. But, looking at the viewer, they are instead round. But I saw I positioned wrongly the pupil and iris, so I think now you can see it better.
Also, as other anons said, your critique was a bit harsh. I'm happy that you care so much to feel so strongly about my improvement, but, when one does critique, they should tune to a minimum their personal feelings and give an objective opinion. But one learns to do everything, even critique.
Also you say that I've not improved. Indeed in these months I had very little time to draw, and even in those times I was not very inspired. I improved very little, but still I have improved, even I can see this. You can give a comparison seeing the difference in my latest TTs.
And, last but not least, don't think I don't put effort in drawing. Yesterday I drew until I couldn't keep my eyes open and similar in the few days I have time. Drawing is a hobby but I put all of myself into it. Or at least, the little bit that remains after a day of work.
Still, thank for the critique and other anons sorry for the wall of text.
