Did they manage to save anything at all? that stuff takes up several TBs of disk space, they definitely had a hugh archive of old anime projects as well, those projects that could've been used for future remasters in 4K as well.
Many irreplaceable animators lost their lives, kyoani's style will never be the same again, but if the project files are still recoverable, the next generation of artists can still try to resume and finish what was left behind. Violet Evergarden's movie was coming out next year for example, it would be real disgrace for me if all the efforts these animators put into this series were to be lost forever, since I liked that series a lot.
