Though I can understand people wanting to believe it, not only out of malice and hatred against KyoAni, but because it resembles a logical explanation. Humans always try to find patterns and reasons as it enables us to amend behavior in order to avoid risks. In cases like this, we're at a loss, as most probably there is nothing we can do to avoid some random loony attacking us. The chaos in the universe is hard to bear.
