I haven't cried but when I'm in this thread or think of it, my heart just physically hurts... never happened before with these. I have regrets about criticising him, although I believe nobody else and nothing could have saved him.
From what I read about his lifestyle, he was practically a hikkikomori. Except he WAS working and meeting people, not refusing society. I always wondered, how he got along with those assistants of his after living that antisocial lifestyle for years. But they spoke nothing but kindly of him, and I do believe he was kind to them. He was only hard on himself, and that, while really admirable and visible on his work, has cost him his health.
Get that much-deserved rest, sensei. Your work will live on as an inspration.
