The Godhand try to purge her, but Slan managed to escape but was weakened after battling with them. Slan materializes in the real world and attempts to warn Guts about Casca, but Guts didn't believe her at first. Only when Guts found that Casca had stolen a red behelit that he realized Slan was right all along.
The world is thrown into chaos again with after the ascent of Casca as the new Godhand Succubus. She quickly shows herself to be more depraved and malicious than any of the other Godhand. Guts falls in deeply love with Slan. Slan reveals a secret to defeating the the Godhand. With the help of Slan, SK, and the surviving elves, the motley group of heroes come up with a plan to defeat the Godhand. It involves a risky plan of channeling their lifeforce into the DragonSlayer and combining the DragonSlayer with SK's behelit sword.
Using the upgraded DragonSlayer, Guts cuts a hole to the Astral Plane and travels through it, fighting armies of monsters along the way until finally reaching the Godhand's inner sanctum. Most of the party is lost after dispatching 3 of the Godhand. Femto and Succubus have sex in front of the Guts to spite him.
