Decided I would do the quests the moment I got them no matter how hard. Got the ghost lady at the pier when I was like Level 10. Went to take her quest, was taken to some island. Never played this game before so meh, sure; whatever.
Got my ass handed to me in all imaginable ways. I played as a solo Assassin because that's how I roll. Eventually through trial and error could get past the first few baddies by spamming counter and even took down the big guy all on my own by being cheesy and firing arrows from unreachable places.
Unreachable places was the name of the game. I would find one, fire arrows for 15 minutes and kill a bad guy, Level up from just that and then go back to learn abilities/sell stuff and by then the enemies spawned again but that was okay; I got upgraded after each attempt so cool. Wondered just how much I was going to Level up in the place.
I'm Level 105 now. I know what Bitterblack Isle is and I know how I messed up. The rest of the game won't be challenging but I can't bring to start all over after all my hard work.
Funny story out of it, if nothing else.
