Feel like I should post something here. I was lucky enough to get into Berserk 6 years ago after the boat arc ended, so I didn’t suffer the worst of the hiatuses. I’m not so sure how to feel about this. I no longer need to keep myself updated hiatus after hiatus, but now, one of my favorite manga ever is never getting an ending. This year I started getting disillusioned with Berserk, but once I started rereading it this year, Berserk is absolutely beautiful. Guts’ journey of growth, pain, and self-individuation is genuinely one of the best things I’ve ever really seen or read in... anything. It’s so devastating that now we’ll never see the end of that long, lonesome road. I only started reading 6 years ago, but I can’t imagine how the anons who started a decade or two or even more ago feel. Miura was certainly a strange man with strange tastes, but regardless of that, manga has lost one of its most beloved, iconic, and legendarily talented writers and artists ever. Rest in Peace, you beautiful bastard. Thank you for the amazing ride.
