Aneurysms can be detected with preventive studies, but at 46yo it wasn't exactly high priority...
Strokes can have warning signs, mainly for ischemic types (not the hemorrhaging ones which are the type associated with aneurysms):
>Half of face looks stuck>Problem moving one half of the body>Slurred speechThese are signs of an incoming ischemic stroke. People can survive these and live well after that, my uncle did hold up after his, but 13 days later he suffered a second one, which was the final nail.
After surviving one stroke one must be careful because if there's been one, there can always be a second.
>ways to detectDepends on the fall. If it was very strong head trauma it might be a lost cause anyway, but in any case a CT of the head would be a basic thing to do. The head can withstand quite some, but with older people not so much.
