>>263893711>>263893252>>263888613>>263888967I don't get the negative reaction to this across this thread, a ton of the people giving eulogies and commenting on Toriyama's passing have talked about the impact his work had on their lives
the DBZA/TFS comments really aren't that different from what even some actual mangaka are saying, or what a ton of anons in this very thread are posting talking about how important DB was to them
I think anons are just seething because DBZA is popular with normies
>>263889044>>263889086No, totallynotmark said that, who didn't work on DBZA,it's just he covered DBZA a lot and had TFS produce short videos for him
And even then his statement wasn't
>"DB is only popular in the west thanks to DBZA"it was
>"DBZA is responsible for the franchise still being a part of popular anime content online and kids still being into the series during the late 00s to mid 2010's when the franchise's official media was in a lull prior to battle of godswhich is still sort of a a massive assumption but isn't completely batshit insane: The very fact that so many normies or youtube e-celebs have ONLY seen DBZA and not OG db, as cancerous as that is, shows it's true to an extent
It's also part of why so many people think Z broly hates goku for crying holy shit watch the actual movie that's not what happens at all>>263891766For OG dragon ball, yes
For DBZ, no, the original anime's pacing is pretty terrible and even kai can drag on at points, i'd either read the manga or watch kai
>>263893663It's got way less fluff and Toriyama's art and paneling/coregraphy is excellent, so yes, but obviously some stuff does benefit from music/animation or being stretched out a bit in the anime. Overall though the manga is a way more consistent expierence, especially for Z
