>>263909490Yeah, I think people underestimate the impact DB Kai had. I'm a zoomer and a lot of my zoomer friends grew to love DB from seeing Kai as they grew up. Before Kai the only thing I really knew about DB was Goku vs Raditz, vague memories from a rented Budokai game and seeing some Z movies that my brother rented.
I've gotten an impression that some boomers think most zoomers grew up with Super but that's pretty wrong. Maybe the younger zoomers did? But the zoomers in their 20s all grew up with Kai. And we all got hyped up for Battle of Gods. And then Resurrection of F. Then the hype storm from Super being announced.
From a zoomie-woomie's perspective shit went like:
>early-mid 00sNostalgic memories of video games like Budokai series, Budokai Tenkaichi series, etc
>late 00s-early 10sDragon Ball Kai which led many of us to read the manga or see the original anime for Buu
>early-mid 10sBattle of Gods, Resurrection F, Xenoverse
>Mid 10sSuper anime, Xenoverse 2
>Late 10sDBS Broly, DBFZ, DBZ Kakarot
>Early 20sDBS Manga arcs, Super Hero, Daima, Sparking Zero...
From my perspective, there was never really a point that Dragon Ball wasn't present in my life in some way. And it's that way for many zoomer fans of the franchise. It's almost scary how well Dragon Ball has spread its influence over my entire life.
