Toriyama was working his ass off 6 days a week doing everything himself for the 1st 3 years of Dr. Slump and didn't know how to use his assistant. He was relieved when he finally learned how to do it in his 4th year and when his wife helped him out at tmes.
Toriyama had tons of hobbies. He didn't roll with anything, you don't understand what you are talking about at all.
He had a contract with Shueisha and agreement that they would let him end Dr. Slump if he started a new series.
Of course Torishima worked him and made sure DB was popular that's his job but Toriyama was also grateful to the company for having given him the opprotunity to be published so he paid them back and then some.
The only tragedy here is you being a hipster.
Toriyama didn't have an ego like that, he was never that kind of person. That's why people like his series and that is why you will never get it.
