>>70753187,79Uhh, I'm leaving out a shitload of stuff. I only directly translate bits of scenes here and there (I usually greentext it or put it in quotes).
Admittedly VNs are borderline content on /a/, but I still think it should be fine as long as it's not the primary thrust of the thread. Plus, and maybe I'm just being full of myself here, I don't know, but don't high-content posts (like translations and OC and significant discussion) have some merit beyond fitting in the board topic? Isn't this the logic behind the tolerance of the daily Japanese threads, the drawfag threads, the C82 threads (and even the buyfag threads) and whatnot? It's not even like VNs are entirely disconnected from /a/'s primary content coverage. /a/'s been slowly siphoning shit back from /jp/ for years (this is partly why /jp/ is a massive shithole now).
And before someone (>implying anyone's still ghosting or cares) brings up the "just because they're breaking the rules why should you?" It's not really about breaking the rules. What constitutes /a/ content isn't totally black and white––"anime and manga related" is pretty fucking vague, actually. Moderation sets precedents about what's appropriate (for example, image dumps are informally considered unacceptable/spam because they are low content threads). Further, as has been mentioned numerous times, if we should go to /cm/ and /y/ to talk about gay shit, moe shit should go to /c/ and /e/, robots shouldn't be discussed outside of /m/ and so on. Board content (shockingly enough) overlaps.
At any rate, I don't see why we need to constantly explain and justify our presence on the board.
