What's up, neckbeard here. I really like to get into anime and manga again, but every time i start i got bombarded with several themes that i dislike such as:
- Main character is a teenager. Highschool stuff too.
- Magic or science that is there to make ridiculous things happen be it fantasy shit or mecha.
- Over the top and oversaturated approach to characters.
However, in past years i watch and read some, and i really liked two titles.
Black lagoon, while cheesy, but for taking place in real world.
Blame for being rather bold approach to storytelling and absence of childish stuff.
So. Can you reccomend me some titles that feature such things as:
- real life setting
- crime/detective related story. i would really like to see something about cops, yakuza and stuff like that
- mature main character and no eyecandy women being just eyecandy

What happened to the LOGH-fags? At one point this board had an abundance of serious anime viewers who loved stuff like GiTS SAC, Berserk and especially LOGH. If you liked babies first deep shows they would post in the thread how you need to get on their level and watch LOGH. If you liked cute girls they would tell you it was stupid and that you needed to watch LOGH. But now I never see them any more. Are they still here but post about other stuff? Maybe their zealous attitude has died of and now they like all kinds of anime as they had done at some earlier point. Or did these "mature" fans actually mature and left 4chan and anime for good?
