Japanese wikipedia disagrees with you, if you want to go to Japan and convince them they are using their own words wrongly, go ahead, but you'll look like an idiot.
Kemonomimi means 'with animal ears and exhibiting animal-like behaviour', look around - you will find this definition everywhere.
Taruto was licensed and given a dub, Dog Days wasn't. Taruto sold exceptionally well in an era before BDs and even before people were buying DVDs en masse like they do now, in fact the dub alone probably sold more than Dog Days has done in Japan, even with these odds against it.
Di Gi Charat is completely a Kemonomimi series and is so immensely popular that I don't even have to convince you that it's more successful than Dog Days.
All the others listed were all Kemonomimi series and all had much more success that Dog Days; Tokyo Mew Mew STILL has threads running 10 years onwards on 2ch.
