The worst part is not that they went fucking crazy with the plot, it's that they went fucking crazy in the wrong direction. The first story arc ended with the birth of a true Singularity level sentient AI. That shit should have changed the fucking world forever. Instead, they swept it under the rug by having Aura, whose entire point was that she was growing more and more like a human, decide she'd rather be a passive unreachable sleeping part of The World and make most of the previous plot completely fucking pointless. The AIDA comes up, another true Singularity, and it's also swept under the rug.
Why the hell did they decide to do uninspired enviromental bulcrap when the original setup gave them the freedom to go all Isaac Asimov on this shit if they had cared to?
