Just started watching Kore wa Zombie, why is Haruna such a bitch?

I need anime suggestions! I have been popping in and out of the world of anime for the last 10 + years and it's been about two years since I actually sat down and watched something new.

I need a suggestion for a reasonably gritty more mature and entertaining show. None of that slice of life comedy business (although the dub of Ghost Stories was hilarious)

I don't know where else to go. My usual places have vanished so uh with that in mind I have enjoyed
