You could really argue either way, but leaving your one of a kind instaheal medic somewhere in the back where they're less likely to get shot to bits isn't a bad idea. I think the best plan there would've been something in between where you had a bunch of combat capable mooks in a humvee up front communicating with Shoe and Hare in another humvee farther back.

Maybe they weren't expecting enemies, but it's not like they shouldn't have been; even those rogue kids could've gotten their hands on guns or something and caused some trouble. Added to that, if no one was expecting trouble there'd be no need to bring Hare since no one would be injured.
