Can't understand why someone rated anoHana dub less than madoka's, AnoHana was really good for a dub.

>>60957130 not them. but it could be because they hear the same voices al the time for their italian dubs so they look poorly on them, while someone who doesn't know italian might look at it favorably.
>>60957217 But I'm italian.
I thought that AnoHana was handles pretty well, characters sounds like they're supposed to. They didn't censor or downplay the serious tone of the show, nor they sugarize how they speak. They swear like teenagers are supposed to.
In Madoka Magica (I think) they approached the shows with a slightly younger target than they were supposed to. Just take the synopsis in consideration.
The VA for Madoka use a standard "child show" voice tone, she's making sound herself more childish than needed. Kyuubey VA too do that .
I need to watch more episodes for a definitive opinion. For now Madoka is a 6/10 and AnoHana an 8/10 where Jap Audio is set as 10.

>>60629623,184 >with the proper contradictions (Jake footage + Samantha's photo) he could've recovered his memories. Possible, but it doesn't seem all that likely. The Jake footage and the photo only undid the things shown there, i.e. the implanted memory of the killer being Jake and of Maverick accompanying him to the skate rink. After the implanted memory peeled away, the true one did not surface. What happened instead was that the mind went berserk trying to fill the missing chunk (the faceless unknown murderer), triggering the nonstop hallucinations in both unconscious and conscious states.
To undo something like that hard evidence of the real event seems necessary, but such proof did not exist. In ep19, even when Maverick actually told him what happened, Barnaby still could not recall him being there. If even the murderer's confession itself could not fix the damage, it's probably safe to say that undoing the problem without any concrete proof is very difficult and would take a very long time at the minimum. And seeing how bad and persistent the hallucinations were, Barnaby would have most likely gone completely insane long before that.

>>60629623,185 >If even the murderer's confession itself could not fix the damage, it's probably safe to say that undoing the problem without any concrete proof is very difficult Then how would the recovery in ep.23 be an anomaly rather than a contradiction? What you just said boils down to "even missing chunks doesn't make a person any more susceptible to words and cold hard evidence is required." If that's the case, then what happened in ep.23 should be impossible.
Anyways, I'm not saying his memory will come back immediately after he puts the two together. Rather, if he does figure out Maverick's the murderer, he'd most likely have to be convinced through his own investigative work first before he can remember.
The purpose of the Jake footage and the photo is to get Bunny to become suspicious of Maverick. Bunny would know Maverick doesn't have an alibi anymore and make him a suspect. Since it was also Maverick who replaced Samantha in his memories, this would only make Bunny more suspicious of him. He isn't a stranger to uncovering information on people and he's also a good actor so he would most likely try to subtly interact with Maverick and confirm his suspicions as well.

>>60629623,187 >He isn't a stranger to uncovering information on people and he's also a good actor so he would most likely try to subtly interact with Maverick and confirm his suspicions as well. With time, yes. The thing is, that considering his worsening hallucinations time was something he most likely did not have. In a way, Maverick's intervention in ep19 was helpful, because it at least released the berserked looping memory.
>If that's the case, then what happened in ep.23 should be impossible. Exactly. This is also why Kotetsu was in so much despair: everything was seemingly lost. Maverick tried to overwrite Kotetsu Kaburagi with Tiger (like he did with everybody else), but with Barnaby it was impossible and thus the affected memory parts and everything tangentially related got purged altogether.
What the poster in
>>60629623,121 cited was about that. Despite losing all memory the connection to Kotetsu still remained, because it was embedded at the very core of his mind. And since his presence in Barnaby's mind was so ubiquitous, regaining him undid the other recent changes as well.
In other circumstances, what happened in ep23 would be indeed impossible.

>>60629623,188 >The thing is, that considering his worsening hallucinations The hallucinations were there because he had no idea who the killer could be and his mind was trying to fill in the blank. With a suspect in mind, that means there's someone he believes to be the murderer and the blank will be filled temporarily. Unless Maverick gets himself off the hook, the hallucinations would probably decrease/disappear since his mind now has a target and doesn't need to loop over all the faces anymore.
Also, as someone who firmly believes in the necessity of actual evidence to break Maverick's mindgoosh, did you really find ep. 23 a satisfying resolution?
I mean, I realize the writers were trying to go for a "(extremely strong) love can overcome all" kind of direction (in Bunny's case at least), but still.
In the Jake arc, the writers set up the rules for Jake's powers, played by those rules, showcased Bunny's unshakable faith in Kotetsu, and came up with a clever plan. It touched all the bases well and that for me is a satisfying resolution. Ep. 23 on the other hand, I just can't say the same. But that's just my opinion.

I just caught up on this and it's freaking amazing, holy shit. Easily the best of the season next to Nisemonogatari... the character design, the characters themselves, a plot that's engaging but doesn't take itself anywhere near what can be called 'seriously'... it's all so good.
