Referencing is when you refer to something you want to draw. This is where you fucking morons get it wrong. It's not the same as eye-tracing, which is exactly what you're fucking doing. If I wanted to draw Kayneth but had no idea how he fucking looks or was confused about what a part of him looked like, I could REFER to an image of him and look at what he looks like. Based on that I can draw a completely different, new image of him.
Eye tracing is not fucking referencing. Here's another point you dumb shits always get wrong. You know how there's some people who draw models, right? They draw the models exactly how they pose, right? Well that shit's not fucking called fucking referencing. I don't know if the artfags have a special name for it, but it's basically for studying off a model. This shit applies to apples and all that hooey. When I'm trying to draw a fucking apple I don't just look at it and draw the shape. The whole reason why I'm drawing a fucking apple is to study all kinds of shit like light, shadow, texture, color and all that nonsense. You can't fucking do that shit with anime characters because there's literally nothing you can study from them that wouldn't be better using a live 3d person. If you're stupid as all shit and actually DO make studies off an anime character you'll always have difficulty drawing the most basic shit. Like where to place eyes, noses and mouths, how to draw hands and feet, hell even any kind of basic anatomy since anime style IS SO FUCKING VARIED. YOU CAN'T STUDY OFF IT.
