>>60113774>This is another fallacy here if you are asserting that I have to give reasons of my own to point out that your reasons are poor. And you were pointing out the fallacies in my logic from the very beginning. It's kind of irritating that someone tells you you're wrong, without them telling you WHY you're wrong. It's what you have been doing this whole time.
You see, even you mentioned Lucky Star is very similar to Nichijou. Yet Lucky Star is a cultural icon that is as successful as they want it to be. It was one of the first to successfully approach the SoL genre, and it's why it has become a classic within the anime medium. Since then, various other shows, many of which you mentioned, have saturated the medium. This means that Lucky Star isn't a good show to compared, precisely because of its iconic popularity.
In this case, I was pointing out that with each fanbase surrounding a show, comes a devout following of the studio, due to the immense popularity of the series. That's why brand products exist. These fans expect their studio to create quality content, and the usually gobble it up. That is not the case this time.
And you mention that I put forward arbitrary reasons why it only targets a specific demographic, yet you mention none of your own. I say why it is, and you tell me that it's not, yet you don't tell me why not. It's why I need your opinion to see why my logic is full of fallacies. I can assure most of us here can say K-ON is adore specifically by otakus. Cultural specifics dictate purity and an endearing personality, much of what K-ON's characters have. I am surmising that those "arbitrary reasons" are the reason why it's so popular in this specific "otaku" demographic. I conclude that since Nichijou doesn't hold these same "arbitrary" qualities, is the reason there is no devout fanbase behind the show, and why it sold very poorly.
