Is it just me or was Hamtaro less edgy than many of the animes and shows that Cartoon Network aired around 2002 or so? It was really wholesome and cute and charming

/a/, I'm here to ask the unaskable.
I've tried on any number of occasions to enjoy Naruto over the course of the past few years, but so far it's been a losing effort. Admittedly, I've only managed to watch about 25 episodes, but the win-to-fail ratio was so low that I couldn't keep at it.
I did think the fight in episode 23 was pretty watchable. It's just that I had to watch about 12 hours of static images, posing and general bullshit to see it.
That said, here's my question: are there any episodes of Naruto that are fast-paced, action-heavy and exciting with a minimum of bullshit? Episodes that I could watch individually while skipping over the seemingly interminable crap?
