And even there I'm not sure if it's true, because my impression was that Hikari wasn't nearly as interested in Karen as Karen was in her when she first came back. She didn't want her involved in the auditions but her feelings intensified as the show went on. Homura on the other hand was secretly in love the whole time.
I watched Utena because of of the "Revue is Utena for morons" comments that smug utenafags can't help but drop in these threads. It's a good show, but aside from stylistic similarities, it's 2 mostly different shows.
Utena's movie is complete dogshit whose only redeeming qualities is the art and music. From what I understand, Furukawa is like Bonsoir Ikuhara's protege. It's not plagiarism so much as it is a student carrying on in the style of their master.
