Several days ago I posted about how I couldn't bear to listen to any of the anime's music because it gave me sad memories, even only surviving for one total syllable of Sis Puella Magica. I decided to become a brave boy and listen to them, because while there is importance to being empathic to the characters and appreciating the story, there is bigger importance in staying grounded; listening to them is a step in the right direction. At first, Your Silver Garden and Sis Puella Magica hurt and made me teary-eyed, but later on they don't feel so bad as I thought it would be. I do still feel somber when listening to them and Decretum and the OP and ED, but at least I know I'm strong and grounded enough to not get sad for weeks like previously.
Anyway, I hope anyone who's facing the same problem will feel inspired to face their fears; I talked to a friend about this and he also had the same issue years back, so I'm guessing it's somewhat of a thing among Madoka watchers. On another note, I noticed how the OP and ED's lyrics reflected Madoka and Homura's thoughts, respectively.
