But still, you could see a lot of R07's good writing in Gou: club members struggling to keep the same mood once members start to leave, Rika feeling the joy of experiencing a new life outside Hinamizawa, Satoko failing to adjust to St. Lucia's life and getting depressed, Rika noticing this but not knowing what to do... these were great. Those scenes had that scent of humanity that makes me like R07's works.
But most of the execution of everything else has been so poor... pointless recaps, selling it as a remake first for absolutely no reason, meaningless name drops that feel almost like prostitution in this comically bad show. They made so many bad choices regarding how to present this story to the viewer.
The worst part is, I've read somewhere that R07 planned to remake bait until the end of Watadamashi, but the studio refused. Makes me wonder who is making the bad calls.
