>>225870120>I feel like the anime ruined Gojo a bit.I've enjoyed several Mappa shows in the past, but I think their JJK adaptation missed the mark. A lot. Gojou's appearance is one example. He's too pretty. He has this glowy ethereal look that's not actually all that appealing. And he for sure doesn't look like he does in the manga.
Over all, Mappa's adaptation was all over the place. Some of it was decent, like the Origin of Obedience arc. But a lot of the time, they seemed to be unwilling to have fun with the source material. They ended up doing a straight adaptation of the manga. (Which is ill-advised, in my opinion, since Gege didn't quite know what they were doing in the beginning and could have used someone's help in pacing etc.)
I think a lot of the issues with the JJK anime were due to the director. Gege as a mangaka was clearly lost a lot during the beginning of the series, and a skilled director would have realized that and worked to correct it in the adaptation. Sadly that is not what happened.
