https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PushOcr3GN0 unlike the original tv anime, which was almost all comedy, it has edgier yokai designs and is more story driven to appeal to boys, but the protagonist is a girl. so they surrounded the girl protagonist by male co-protagonists so boys don't feel left out (moody bishounen that's her pseudo love-interest, fat kid that's literally the fat kid from every kids' anime and her little brother that they added because they needed someone to serve as the butt of the joke in comedy episodes). and even if at times the focus goes hard on moody kid, she is definitely the main character, specially now that they revealed that she is a literal shoujo protagonist since she is
the reincarnation of a legendary princess. it's a true omnipandering show for kids, since i'm sure scenes in which evil bishounen kneels in front of the protagonists and says he will do anything she wants are bait for the female audience.
