I just felt like Yume didn't drive anything at all through the second season. Which isn't a problem in of itself, but when the big finale is all based around her, it's a case of "okay but why do I care". Or more to the point, why does she really care? She had no real basis to be the one to beat Elza in terms of plot (other than having to win to be the best), and when you couple that with the what I've already said about Elza, it's such a flat finale. And then of course, it's not the actual finale because now we have to have one more competition against Hime, which was more or less an afterthought. But at least they finished up that thread before it ended, otherwise I'd complain about it being a dropped point.
Basically, I felt no emotional weight in the climax, which made all the shit I suffered through before even worse in hindsight.
