In this chapter we have deepened our understanding of WTF the origin of the titans is, and their true nature. Seems to be implied that the PATHS parasite is just another form of life that evolved in Earth, and just like any other living thing, it seeks to multiply and perpetuate his existence.
So far we have assumed two things that are probably very wrong, and this is making us fail to understand ch137, something that may be totally on purpose knowing Isayama. This has been presented under a specific narrative: Eren/Ymir vs the Alliance. But we need to ask ourselves, this is really the conflict we have been seeing for the last 3 chapters? or we are as ignorant as the alliance?
>The first of the assumptions is that since ch122, Ymir was free to do whatever she pleased, and by extent, that Eren (and Ymir) were free. Almost omnipotent beings.>The second is that the purpose of hallucigenia existence, AKA, worm-kun, was just an excuse to aspull defeat Eren and Ymir.Once again this is framed in this chapter in a way these assumptions SEEM to be true, yet Eren did nothing, said nothing. Eren never fought back. Ymir apparently was playing both sides. You can even say she was helping the alliance more than Eren. Armin says that "Ymir wanted something from us".
What Ymir wanted is the REAL question. Let's go back to ch122:
>"I will put an end to this world"To make that possible, It's know that Eren needs TWO things. While the rumbling it's one of them, to end the cycle of hate, what about the second one? Eren and Ymir were FREE to rumble the world, but they were free to BETRAY worm-kun? free to end PATHS? Shouldn't worm-kun be against that, it's going to let go the host that allowed him to live and multiply for 2000 years?
What if Eren and Ymir MANIPULATED the alliance to fight their common enemy? What if the defeat of worm-kun (separating him from Eren) makes possible the end of the titankind? AKA,it makes possible Eren/Ymir ultimate
objetive.To end this world.
