And yeah, it makes sense that a good portion of the characters, in both the main cast and general statistics, were dirt farmers’ kids leaving home the second they were allowed too, but not every single adventurer should be that desperate or have the opportunity that early. It cuts off a lot of potential avenues for their backstories, or at least renders them completely implausible, and detracts from the narrative significance of primary characters like GS (who has very strong personal reasons to jump into the grind As Soon As Physically Possible) or Priestess & the Greenhorns (whose naivety and impatience as exemplified by their youth is effectively their hamartia). And anyway, it’s just excessive; dudes like Heavy Warrior and Spearman are so distinct in character and circumstances from GS that it makes little sense for them to be same age staring out. I can only assume that Kumo made them so to try to make it easier to buy them being peers, not realizing that a small age gap is no barrier to that.
