See, to me, and many people who actually don't like Akiha that much, SHE'S the one on the pity party boat that people have been trying toi put Arc on. The truth is that Akiha's life isn't that bad, she's just an INSANELY fatalistic person obsessed with negativity, bordering on nihilism, and so self-obsessed with her image of it and herself that she can't even vegin to escape the misery she puts herself in.
To be shorter about it, she likes to view life as a tragedy, starring her as the tragic heroine, when in truth the other routes prove she's just a 2ndary character in the lives of REAL tragic heroines.
There are many ways in which Akiha could have lived differently or escaped her tragic fates, at least as much as they could have been improved on, but she chooses the worst and least resistant paths.
A huge case in point is NEVER dscussing the truth, or at least certain parts of it, with Shiki that would have let them get closer and helped her a thousand fold because she refused to change her situation. She only comes out and does this when she's psycho and planning on claiming him for herself regardless of what he or anyone else wants.
